Mixed emotions

My heart soars for Molly.  I am so proud of her and her courage.  She has been taking gymnastics for a few months now in the "kids gym" class.  This class is for little kids generally 4 and under.  For a few weeks now, her teacher has recommended moving her up to the regular "big kids" gymnastic program. This program is broken into 3 levels: bronze, silver, and gold.  Ms. Mary said she was ready to skip bronze and start out in silver.  The silver classes were pretty full for the times that worked with our schedule so we decided to start her in bronze.  I was also a little hesitant to send her off to the big kids!
Well, last night she took the leap into bronze.  She is awesome.  She ran right out to the big mat with all the big kids and never looked back!  (one girl is taller than me!  I know, not hard to do but still!)  All levels do warm up and stretching together.  She was the youngest and smallest on the mat but she kept up no problem.  After watching her and her new classmates (mostly 5 and 6 yr olds), skill wise she would be fine in the silver class.  I could also tell that she was enjoying it more than the "kids gym".  Her new instructor was very impressed that this was Molly's first bronze class.

So here are my mixed emotions: so excited to see her blossom and grow but couldn't stop thinking "that's my baby out there with the big kids".  My little girl is growing up into an amazing big kid!
