random

here are some random pictures from the last few weeks. Molly got her first skinned knee. She didn't even notice or just didn't care. She kept on going, nothing stops this girl.

Our little girl sleeping. she looks so big!

Molly loves playing in my tupperware drawer. She spent all morning carrying the bowl around stirring with a spoon. She is my little shadow these days. I showed her how to water the flowers using the watering can yesterday. Tonight, when we were coming up the front porch, she grabbed the empty watering can and carried it over to the flower pots. She "watered" the flowers for me. She had such a huge grin cause she was helping. It was too funny. She is watching and learning everyday.

She was reading her "DOG" book-which she loves, Thanks Teri!! I wanted to take a picture of her reading it but when I turned on the camera she came over to me. I asked her to get her DOG so she went over to the book but reached down into her toy box and pulled out Snoopy. She carried Snoopy around by his nose . Poor Snoopy. This morning, Molly woke up early so we snuggled on the couch. She eventually fell back asleep. I needed to get off the couch to get ready to go so I placed big couch cushions on the floor so she would have padding if she rolled. Sure enough, she rolled off the couch. She didn't even make a sound and stayed asleep. She woke up when I was taking pictures which was good since we needed to get going for the day.

Priceless. She is my daughter. I love the "why am I awake" look. Believe it or not, she was happy when she woke up. She thought it was funny she was on the floor.

rough job

Floyd is working hard these days. Once he gets to work, they have to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to their job assignment. Check out his hardship.
they are at the base of the mountains. what great views plus the river runs next to the substation so on their lunch break, they go for a swim. Notice the rope swing. We have actually had a warm summer so the swimming has been good. If you can't tell, Floyd really loves his job.

1 year check up

Molly had her 1 year check up today and by no surprise she is perfect. She was a trooper getting her 5 shots. I am so glad that daddy was there to hold her down for them. It breaks my heart to see her get the shots. Molly and I enjoyed a nice walk to her dr.'s office in the sunshine including a few views of the water and sailboats.

Here are the stats:
Head size: 75% (she's got a big head-hehe)
Height: 28 3/4 inch-surprising my little girl is in the 25%
Weight: A whopping 18 lbs 13 oz. placing her in the 10th%. At least we made it to the 10th%!! We need to go back in a month or 2 to weigh her again to make sure she is continuing to gain weight. The girl just doesn't stop moving to gain an ounce.

So overall, she is a little on the short side, underweight, and has a big head. PERFECT! and Cute as a Button. I will post new pictures soon. Trying to get caught up on things and get feeling better from a never ending sinus infection before we leave on vacation. Yup, the Nelson family is taking a fun family vacation to the Oregon Coast. Can't wait!

1 year pictures

Molly's photo shoot

Molly loved to clap throughout the photo shoot. She didn't want to stay still for the pictures to be taken. We tried getting her to hold onto the ladder but that just wasn't happening. She kept walking away from it towards the camera. Jeanne came with us to help me out. I knew Molly would be a hand full during and after the picture taking. Floyd didn't know we were doing this. For his birthday, I wanted to surprise him with a picture of Molly and I. Hope you enjoy the photos. She really is too cute.

all caught up

So I think I am all caught up on posting and pictures. At least for a few days. Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July weekend.

Oh, I almost forgot a very important update from her birthday......she started walking! She took her first unassisted steps when we were home in MI but hasn't really taken any unassisted since then. On her birthday, she was playing on the deck in the sun. Evidently, she thought it was too warm so she stood up and walked to the shade. She still crawls most places but is taking more and more steps every day. She'll be running in no time. Wish me luck!

At last Birthday pictures

Molly turned 1 on Friday. We had a great family day thanks to the long weekend. We all went for a nice walk on the waterfront. Daddy, oh wait- I mean Molly, was excited to watch boats be loaded into/removed from the water. Edmonds has a nice boardwalk leading from the beach/playground passing the boat launch/marina to the fishing piers, and on to more beach and the ferry terminal. It was a beautiful 85 degree day to go for a walk along the waterfront. We decided to have a last minute BBQ for her birthday with a few friends. And of course, birthday cake.

Opening up her new books. She loves this book about Dogs. Very cute book.

She is a domestic goddess in the making. She now has her vacuum and a cell phone.
cause she's cuteNo mom, one more minute to play with my snail. We stripped her down to a diaper for cake.
Diving into the frosting. She couldn't wait for her own piece. I had fun decorating her cake. It was my first attempt at cake decorating.

She has a big mouth for chocolate ice cream!

Not too messy but off to the bathtub she goes. All clean. Time to say good night to everyone. I know, give her cake and put her to bed. Lucky Daddy got to put her to bed.

Bear crawling

She has taken to bear crawling again.

the last pics of Molly before she turned 1

Here are the last pictures of our little baby Molly before she turned 1. Hard to believe she turned 1 on Friday.

Yes, MY daughter picked out the purple dress to wear. I was holding her while I was picking out an outfit for the day. She grab this one.

Same day, different outfit. Molly learned that playing is hard to do in a dress when you still are crawling. it just gets in the way. It was pretty for our appointment and errand running. So outfit change when we got home. She pushed her train outside all by herself. What a big girl.

So she isn't always happy. She didn't get her way. These 2 photos were taken right after each other.
I like this picture. You can tell she is working her tears to see if she can get what she wants. She is learning to pout. It's really quite fun to watch. I know, nip it in the bud before it leads to tantrums.

a big box for Molly

the mailman delivered us a big box for molly. She had a blast trying to get everything out and then playing in the box. what actually came in it didn't get played with right away.
All of the pictures of her playing in the box were slightly blurry since this kid doesn't stop moving-ever!

Now you might wonder, What was in the box? All the things that didn't fit into our suitcase coming home. Including the things Molly decided she must have like: Our old counting eggs from when we were kids. It is a dozen eggs that come apart and have numbers in them. She loves them! Also, my little red rocking chair. She took to that chair from the moment she saw it. Amy's rocking chair was also at Grandma's but Molly only used that once-to climb up on the chair next to it. Molly sitting so nicely in her chair opening her birthday card from Mimi and PawPaw.
It is a daily battle to teach her that the chair is not for climbing but for sitting. I couldnt' resist this cute butterfly on her butt.

new outdoor toy

A friend from church passed along this tricycle with used to have a push handle on it. Floyd made a new handle for us to use. She loved being pushed down the street. (don't worry she was buckled in). Her feet don't quite reach the pedals yet but she is learning to steer it. This was after our walk; she needed to do some further inspection of the bike.

oh, note from the post below: those were brand new shoes-first time on her feet that she dragged across the concrete. What perfect timing. I should have known better than to put brand new anything on her that day since she was going to be playing with the boys while we were at Shelly's shower. lesson learned!!

run a way!

Molly tried to run away from home the morning of Shelly's shower. Here is her escape. And no she didn't skin up her knees on the concrete-at least not this time. Once she disappeared out of sight, we went and got her and all walked down the driveway. She did a great job walking holding onto just our fingers.
