so smart

So now when she is having a fit in her crib, she maneuvers herself to the end of the crib next to the door and faces the door. This way she doesn't miss us peeking in on her to see what she is doing. She's a smart cookie!

She won't let us look in her mouth to see if a tooth is close to popping out. So tonight, we stuck a finger in there and sure enough, we can feel the beginnings of a tooth getting ready to pop thru. It was a sharp corner on that tooth. Can't say I am super excited to feel that!

She is still working on crawling-doesn't slow her down at all! Her left knee just can't get the swing of things and now her right leg is past crawling. She puts her foot down to push herself forward. It almost looks like she is trying to stand up. Floyd also said that she can push herself up to sitting now. I have seen her come close but not all the way yet. She is growing so fast!!

Molly is allergic to something but we are having a hard time figuring it out. We think it is bananas. I have never heard of anyone being allergic to bananas. The other possibilities are barley and baby lotion. I usually put the lotion on after her bath just before bed so I wouldn't see the rash if it is gone by morning. We happened to give her a bath and lotion before church so we found the rash. But it coincided with her having bananas for breakfast. She had tried bananas before but didn't like them so didn't eat very many. We don't remember a rash from it. I happen to put the lotion on her belly again on Tuesday (hadn't considered it the culprit) and her belly broke out again in a rash. So we concluded it was the lotion, until last night. No bananas or lotion anywhere near her for over 24 hours and the rash came back-not as bad as before but it was there. So new suspect-barley. She doesn't like eating the cereal on its own so we have started mixing it with her oatmeal. She has been picky about eating (in general) so maybe she hasn't really eaten as much barley as we thought until now. So we have cut out all 3 things will reintroduce each again.
Or could this be a teething thing? Any suggestions are welcome.

Ok this is a long post about probably boring stuff for most. I know everyone is in it for the photos. sorry no new ones today. time to clean the kitchen.

Warning

The last video clip posted has been known to cause cats to run away and scare people in the next room if they don't know it is coming. You may want to turn down the speakers. She is loud like her daddy. She is a true Nelson.

Found: Sunday napping partner

happy valentines' day at Pike Place Market

Floyd took us girls downtown to the Market for Valentine's Day. He hates going to the market due to the crowds. We made a deal to go early and get out before the crowds hit. We almost did it. He was a trooper. It was a great morning! A nice family outing consisting of a very yummy breakfast, walking thru the Market, and picking out a beautiful bouquet of tulips. And this was all Floyd's idea! Go him!

Molly and the pig. Rachel, the pig is an actual piggy bank. Money collected goes to the Market Foundation that supports for low-income individuals. Here is a link to find out more about it: http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/frameset.asp?flash=trueservices

I'm a big girl

Sitting on the stairs at the Riddles

I wonder what's in here (It's just paper recycling-soon to become her toy box, I have a feeling)

Look Mom, I put my pacifier in all by myself. (note: it's upside down)

Molly vs. Daddy's Shoe

I can climb the shoe

The shoe almost fits!

I made it!

I must conquer the other shoe

I DID IT! I DID IT!

So everyone can now sleep at night......Floyd installed the baby gate at the stairs tonight. It is even mommy proof.

LOST: SUNDAY NAPPING PARTNER

FOUND WITH ANOTHER GIRL!

Saturday at home

Getting ready for a walk. It was a beautiful day on Saturday so we bundled up and hit the road.

We opted for the snowsuit so she couldn't kick off the blankets. Molly was so excited to go for a walk. She loves to be outdoors.

We made it up the hill.

The walk was rough. Time for a nap.

Watching daddy work on the new railing for our deck. It looks amazing!!! Daddy does good work.

not so sweet molly

ok, so she still is a sweet little Molly but she didn't have a great night of sleep. When Floyd got home from work at midnight, she woke up and cried until almost 2am! She ate a little, changed the diaper, rocked her, cuddled her, and finally let her just cry. Sorry dad but nothing else was working. Last time she did this it was her teeth so we tried rubbing her gums....didn't work. I hope her teeth break through soon!

Angie, I love ya girl! Your comments make me laugh. You might be on to something with Floyd feeding Molly but I think it would be ice cream if anything or sweet tea. (only kidding, folks)

more more molly

so I forgot to attach the video of her eating the rice rusk. probably not the most exciting minute but I enjoyed it.

more molly

She likes to play with her spoon. Mostly likes to chew on the handle. Notice the food stuck to her chin. That's my girl!
This is her first "Baby Mum-Mum" rice rusks. She gets to suck on it and it melts in her mouth but she gets to do it herself. She really liked it. Not to mention playing with it.
Molly and daddy resting on Saturday. I don't think she was actually sleeping. Just enjoying a snuggle with daddy.

the sweetest thing

Molly was already half asleep from cuddling in our chair when I tucked her into bed tonight. She did her usual roll to her right side to face the wall. Then she did the sweetest thing.....she turned back to me and gave me the biggest smile and then snuggled back into her spot and drifted back to sleep. It melted my heart. She is such a sweet little girl. I must admit I needed that moment. She has been testing my buttons lately. As Linda in the nursery at church said on Sunday, she is a feisty one. go figure my daughter, feisty.

Any suggestions on how to get her to eat more. I think due to her teething, she has stopped eating her cereal and taking a bottle. Does that make sense? I can't figure anything else out. At first I thought she was getting my cold but she doesn't seem to be sick, no fever, no stuffiness. She has been more needy lately too. Not quite the same smiley little girl. Last weekend, she didn't want to have much to do with me when dad was around. Welcome to 7 months old! can't wait to see what 8 months will bring. Only kidding, she will always be my angel.
