Daycare

Molly started daycare this week. She will be going 2 mornings a week while I am in class. Her daycare is part of the Edmonds community center. The ladies that take care of her are very nice and were so excited to have a new little one. There are 8 babies under 1 year old in her room. The first day when I went to pick her up, she was sound asleep in a swing all cuddled up-so cute! and Thursday she was eating -so I guess it is safe to assume she likes it there.

Well, I guess this gets us caught up on the life and times of Molly. Can anyone recommend a good cd for Molly-something pleasant to listen to that we aren't going to go nuts listening to. The only music we have for her right now is what is on her bouncer, mobile, and swing. I must admit I only like the mobile music and she gets to excited watching it that she won't fall asleep.

Hope all is well with everyone. Fall is arriving a little more everyday. Cheers!

Thank you Heather!

Heather found a book for Molly called Molly in the Garden. It is about Max and Molly are playing in the garden and Molly wants to catch a butterfly to wear in her hair. Once she catches it, Max convinces her it is mean to keep the butterfly so she releases it and runs thru the garden with the butterfly. Cute story with colorful pictures. Molly enjoyed listening to the story.

car show

ok, so things will be short since I haven't been able to blog lately. Molly went to her first classic car show in downtown Edmonds on the 6th. As you can see, she was very excited about it.
Here is Floyd's favorite: 1946 Dodge Power Wagon and my favorite the 1930 Chevy Woody.
After walking around the car show, we went to the outdoor farmers market and got fresh veggies for the week and of course a bouquet of flowers. This picture is taken on top of the library overlooking downtown Edmonds and the waterfront. I love coming down here.
Time for a nap.

5 am feedings

So Molly is now pretty consistent with eating at 5am. I think 3am is easier than 5am since I can go back to sleep for a few hours instead of an hour but hey she likes the 5am hour. I think she takes after her dad on the early morning thing. Of course, he sleeps thru it all these days. But not this morning. He jumped out of bed to get her at 2:15 when she woke up but I already had her feeding when he did that-nice delayed reaction! Like I said she normally doesn't wake up until 5 but with her shots yesterday she wasn't feeling so good and needed extra loving. After her initial long sleep of 7+ hours, she'll wake up 3 hours later and than 2 hours until she is ready to play. So at 5am, I thought she was ready for a diaper change after I fed her. So I got all set up and peeked in the diaper to find a barely wet one. Disappointed that I risked fully waking her up while changing the diaper for not much, I removed the old diaper just in time for her to start to pee. I quickly put the old diaper back under to catch most of it. When I thought she was done, removed the old again and was getting the wipe to clean her up when.....she peed a gallon more and pooped everywhere! yup, no diaper under her. So here I am with very little light on to see anything and a girl laying in her own pee/poop who is now fully awake. Dad still sleeping. I promptly woke him up for help! oh yeah, ran out of wipes in my dispenser at the same time. Needless to say I had to go to her room for new clothes, changing pad cover and more wipes. Floyd got her dressed while I cleaned up the mess. We then had an awake baby at 6am and a grabby mommy. I think we all fell back to sleep just in time for the alarm to go off. Thank goodness we haven't had one of those diaper changes in awhile. What a way to start the day. She is feeling better from yesterday. I think it is time for us to take a walk in the beautiful sun.

9 weeks old!

I know, I know, 3 posts in a weeks time. Don't get too used to this. I just have cute pics to post. We got her a mobile for her crib-which she loves. She will just lay there and kick her feet and watch the bugs go by.

Here is her practicing her tummy time. I wish I could hold my head, arms, and legs up off the ground all at the same time. That is too much effort. This pic was this morning before her Dr appointment.

Today was her 2 month check up. She is just perfect like we already knew. She is 11 lbs 6 oz and 22.5 inches long. (I measure wrong the other week). She is in the 60-75th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference. She is tracking great with her eyes and smiles all the time. The bad part of the visit-the shots! She was a trooper and only cried during them and daddy was able to calm her down quickly afterward. Now she is sleeping. She has been a little fussy this afternoon. oh, the princess is waking up now it is time for us to have dinner. time to go.

Labor Day Weekend

This was on Sunday morning while we were getting ready for church. She didn't want to get up so we took her to church in her pj's. Of course, she wanted to eat during the sermon. Floyd gave her the bottle and the whole church could hear her squeeking away as she ate. It took everything we had not to die laughing, along with a few other folks near us.
We had a wonderful long weekend. On Saturday, we took a lazy morning and went to the Edmonds Farmers Market. We took our time and walked around downtown Edmonds and ran some errands like going to the postoffice and getting coffee for the walk before going thru the market. I got lots of fresh veggies for the week and some beautiful dahlias. We went to a birthday party on Sunday for our friend Jessica. On Monday, we had Kate and Rich and our friend Tonja over for a BBQ. Thankfully, it didn't rain. Tonja, who dabbles in photography, brought her camera and had fun with Molly taking pictures. I'll try to post some when I get them.
Today, Molly and I had a great morning. We played on the floor for awhile and she was all smiles. I asked her if she was "my molly" and she got all excited. It is fun to watch her start responding to her name. We ran a few errands and picked up lunch to have on the waterfront. It was a beautiful day and Molly was asleep in the car so I thought I could sneak a quiet break in for me down at the ferry landing. Of course, Molly woke up and wanted lunch at the beach too. It was a very nice and relaxing morning. Have to say the afternoon-not so much relaxing. Molly fights taking an afternoon nap. She is tired but will only fall asleep for 20 mins at a time. I am hoping she out grows this soon.
This evening we had fun with a little photo shoot of our own. Here our a few of our favorites.
