Shelly's shower

this weekend we threw Shelly a baby shower. It was a safari theme like her nursery. I am excited to say she had a great time and received a lot of wonderful gifts to spoil their little boy. Here are a few pictures from the shower.

Jessica and I made her a scrapbook where she just needs to fill in fun info. One page has a monthly calendar and the next page has room for photos. We'll slowly convert her into a scrapbooker.
Shelly and her elephant cake

this is everyone who helped plan the shower: kate, kathy (shelly's mom), shelly (in case you missed the pregnant belly), kris, and me.

Now we just sit and wait for that little boy to join us. hopefully he isn't on shelly time.

missed a few cute pics from MI

Molly's new toy

Molly got a new toy when we came home from MI. She had too much fun pushing around grandpa's new chairs for us not to get her a push toy. We couldn't wait for her birthday. She loves her new Little People Circus train. We haven't even given her the Little People yet. Thought we would wait to give her those until the train started to become boring and we needed to spice it up. So far, we don't need the Little People yet. She has learned to climb on to sit and scoot it around. She loves to walk around the house with it and on the deck. Plus, the music rocks. Gotta love circus tunes and animal noises. This video is from the first day she got it. She has since figured out all the buttons and stores toys in the seat compartment.

Pictures from MI

So these pictures are backwards. Starting from the end of our trip to the beginning. We were lucky enough to have an entire row to ourselves without buying a seat for Molly. That is so the way to go. The extra seat was a nice surprise. Molly was such a good girl sitting in her seat with the seat belt. Of course, she did play with the seat belt but that was cause it was fun to unbuckle.

Hanging out with grandma and grandpa.

I love my yogurt! give me more!

More presents for me! Molly was spoiled with gifts while we were home. She enjoyed a nice ladies lunch at Mrs. Boudreau's house.

the Goodrich and Nelson families.

Anna helping Molly open her gift. Cute outfits and a great puzzle. Thank you Anna!

The redeye to MI. For anyone who has seen me first thing in the morning, knows this is my daughter!

Speaking of a sleeping daughter, naptime is over. time to rescue my princess from her prison.

Secrets Secrets

Secrets lead to surprises. We went home to visit family and friends last week to be greeted by a big surprise. My parents have been hiding a secret for the last 2 years from my sister and I. Wonder what it is.....well it all started a few years back when my dad meticulously designed an addition for their farm house. It was a 3 story addition including a workout room in the basement, a sun room on the main floor, and a deck as the top floor. Dad had decided not to do it due to lack of quality/competent workers and a few issues he was discovering with materials he wanted to use. At least, that is what he led us to believe. Little did we know, he started building it himself. With the help of a few contractors and his friend Harvey Brown, dad built his addition. Over the last 2 years when I would talk to them, mom would say "oh dad's working on the windows" I always thought, "how many more windows does he have to replace?" I thought he was redoing the windows in the house and working on other projects that he had told me about. Little did I know.
I must say I was speechless when I saw it. I was overcome with joy and pride for the addition my dad had designed and built himself. The sun room is beautiful. What a great room to sit and relax in, enjoy a meal, watch a thunder storm!!! Yes, we got to have a thunder storm while we were home. YEAH!!
OK, here are the pictures. These were taken previously by my dad so the weather outside does not reflect our week home. Also, the furniture for the room was delivered the day before we got there. You will see that it future posts.

the entrance into the new room. That door you see has always been there but led to nothing but a 3 foot drop off.this room is now filled with pretty rattan furniture. what a beautiful view! very peaceful.

the tv will someday hang on the wall above the mantel.
the workout room in the basement. the treadmill and bike are now in place in the room.

Mom, you can now relax and enjoy your new room. the secret is out of the bag.
